Lo-Carb Electrolyte Concentrate
 
Description:
This formula is a lo-carb balanced electrolyte, protein and medium chain triglyceride replacement concentrate designed for use in long distance bicycling at lower exertion levels (120 to 140 heart rate). It is designed to replace electrolytes lost during endurance exercise and may be used for other endurance sports. The formula is based on current scientific research and designed to maximize endurance performance while preserving muscle integrity and restricting carbohydrates to help with weight loss when maximum performance is not needed as in long, slow distance training.

Add to Taste Non-caloric sweetener such as Splenda, Stevia, Nutra-Sweet, etc.  
 
Directions:

Grind tablets and salt in pestle and mortar. Empty capsules and all powdered ingredients into large wide-mouth bottle (like the Soy Protein Concentrate bottles) and mix thoroughly. Add one tablespoon of this mixture (for each 30 minutes of expected effort) plus one additional tablespoon to enough water to make a total of 8 to 24 ounces of concentrate (a large Polar brand bicycle water bottle works well).

* Add 1 tablespoon of Twinlab MCT Fuel liquid to the concentrate for each expected hour of effort.

 

Keep powder dry in a sealed bottle.

Refrigerate concentrate after mixing with water and MCT Fuel.

Use:

Consume the equivalent of 1 tablespoon of concentrate (depending on how many tablespoons you added to make the 24 ounce batch) about 10 minutes before starting and repeat after every 30 minutes of effort. This is a concentrate... Immediately follow each dose with 12 to 16 ounces of plain water and drink frequent small amounts of additional water throughout the effort.
